I had seen incredible videos online\u2014elegant, expressive dancers\u2014and thought:<span>\u00a0<\/span><em data-start=\"1628\" data-end=\"1653\">\u201cI need to learn this!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1655\" data-end=\"1743\">So I did what most of us do\u2014I watched YouTube tutorials and started copying the moves.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1745\" data-end=\"1846\">Did I look like the dancers in the videos? Not quite. \ud83d\ude05<br data-start=\"1801\" data-end=\"1804\" \/>Did I understand what I was doing? Nope.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1848\" data-end=\"1998\">When I watched myself back on video, something felt off. I was just waving my arms around with no connection to my body.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2308\" data-end=\"2555\">I learned that in Latin dance, especially<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong data-start=\"2350\" data-end=\"2371\">Bachata and Salsa<\/strong>, arm styling isn\u2019t where the movement starts\u2014it\u2019s where it<span>\u00a0<\/span><em data-start=\"2431\" data-end=\"2437\">ends<\/em>. Yes, your core will always stay the same.
